What Is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied by hand that bonds chemically to your paint. Wax sits on top and washes off. This doesn't. Once it cures, you've got a hard layer sitting between your factory paint and everything the road does to it.
I use CCI Advance Coating, a professional-grade product rated for 3 to 5+ years under normal driving. It goes on by hand, panel by panel, and cures into a hard, glossy, slick barrier that resists chemical staining and handles Minnesota and Wisconsin winters.
Why Ceramic Coating Is Worth It
UV and oxidation protection. Blocks the sun damage that fades and dulls paint over time.
Chemical resistance. Bird droppings, tree sap, and road grime are far less likely to etch into a coated surface.
Hydrophobic finish. Water beads and sheets off instead of sitting there and drying into spots.
Easier maintenance. A coated vehicle washes faster and stays cleaner longer between details.
Gloss. It's usually the first thing people notice, and it holds up instead of washing away.
Our Ceramic Coating Process
Full hand wash. Safe, contamination-free wash of the entire exterior.
Paint decontamination. Chemical and mechanical removal of what's embedded in your paint that washing won't touch. Brake dust, industrial fallout, rail dust.
One-step paint correction. A machine polish to take out light swirl marks and imperfections so the coating goes onto clean, smooth paint. This is included in every coating I do. If your paint needs more than a light pass, see my paint correction page.
Coating application. Applied by hand, panel by panel, then leveled so there's no streaking or high spots.
Final inspection. Every panel checked for even coverage before I hand the keys back.
Two follow-up visits. I come back at two weeks and four weeks to maintain the coating and make sure it's performing. Included with every coating.
A note on curing: CCI Advance Coating needs an uninterrupted cure period after application — we recommend keeping the vehicle dry and undisturbed for the first 24 hours, and holding off on washing for about 12 days while the coating fully hardens. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect before you drive away.

Your first month of maintenance is included
After I coat your vehicle, I come back twice, two weeks apart, and maintain it myself at no charge.
There are two reasons for that. First, I want eyes on the coating early. If something isn't behaving the way it should, I'd rather find it at two weeks than hear about it at two years. Second, it's the only honest way to show you what a maintained coating actually looks and feels like, so you can decide for yourself whether it's worth keeping up.
Your first visit lands about two weeks after install, once the coating has fully cured. The second comes two weeks after that. No charge, nothing owed, and no obligation to continue.
If your paint needs more than a one-step, that gets quoted separately based on condition. Heavy swirling, oxidation, scratches you can catch a fingernail on. I'll show you exactly what I'm looking at and why before any work starts. Most vehicles that have been reasonably taken care of only need the one-step that's already in the price.
Warranty
Every ceramic coating I install is backed by a warranty. How long it runs depends on how the coating is maintained, because a coating that isn't maintained doesn't last.
Coverage levels
Installation, 90 days. Covered on every coating regardless of anything else. If I leave a high spot, streaking, or uneven coverage, that's my work and I come back and fix it. No conditions.
3-Year Coating Warranty. Requires a maintenance detail with me every 6 months. Two visits a year.
5-Year Coating Warranty. Requires an active every-two-weeks or monthly maintenance plan. At that frequency I'm the one keeping up with it, so I know exactly what condition the coating is in and I can stand behind it for the full five years.
Why maintenance is required: a ceramic coating is a surface that has to stay clean to keep working. Contaminants that sit on it will bond to it and degrade it. Every coating warranty worth anything requires professional maintenance, and any shop offering a no-strings 5-year warranty is either not honoring it or not telling you the whole story.
What's covered
Coating failure. Peeling, delaminating, or losing its gloss and water beading well before it should.
Application defects. High spots, streaking, or uneven coverage from the install, covered for 90 days regardless of maintenance.
If the coating fails within your warranty period and the maintenance requirements have been met, I re-prep and re-coat the affected panels at no charge to you.
What's not covered
Rock chips, scratches, dents, and accident damage. A coating protects paint, it doesn't armor it.
Damage from automatic or brush car washes.
Paint defects that were there before the coating went on, including anything I recommended correcting that you chose to skip.
Neglect, industrial fallout, chemical spills, hail, flood, fire, or other acts of nature.
Damage from body work, repainting, or any coating or sealant applied over mine by someone else.
Any period where the required maintenance was missed.
Keeping your warranty active
The maintenance visits are the main requirement, but there's upkeep between them too. None of it is complicated.
Keep your maintenance schedule. Every 6 months for the 3-year warranty, or stay current on your plan for the 5-year.
Hand wash only, pH-neutral soap, two-bucket method or touchless.
No automatic brush washes. Fastest way to void coverage and the most common way coatings get wrecked.
No abrasive polishes, compounds, or wax over the coating.
Get bird droppings, sap, and fuel spills off promptly instead of letting them bake in.
If a scheduled maintenance detail is missed by more than 60 days, coverage pauses until the vehicle is brought back in and the coating is inspected. If the coating has degraded in the meantime, I'll tell you what it needs and what it costs before doing any work.
If a 5-year plan lapses for more than 60 days, coverage drops to the 3-year term measured from your original install date. Restarting the plan doesn't restore the 5-year term.
